Faculty Excellence Awards 2009

Outstanding graduates are often the result of the symbiotic relationship between the faculty and the student body. Through diligent mentorship, supervision and encouragement, our faculty has capitalised on the learning potential of every student at U21Global and consistently produced knowledge leaders.

In recognition of faculty excellence, we have launched three award categories:

  1. Outstanding Professor Award
  2. Most Innovative Professor Award
  3. Excellence in Online Education Award

We are pleased to announce the recipients of Faculty Excellence Awards 2009, which takes into consideration all sections starting from January through to December last year.

Outstanding Professor Award

The Outstanding Professor Award is given to four professors in U21Global with the highest SEF (Student Evaluation of Faculty) and SACEF (Subject Area Coordinator Evaluation of Faculty) scores. The SEF score is determined by students via U21Global's online survey at the end of every class while the SACEF score is a sign-off between the SAC and the professors at the end of every class.

This year, the prestigious award goes to the following faculty members:

  1. Dr Carol Connell
  2. Dr Lloyd Williams
  3. Dr Ken Wong

Most Innovative Professor Award

The nominees for this award have honed teaching into a fine art. In this student-nominated award category, the professor with the highest number of votes will emerge the winner. U21Global is delighted to present this award to Dr Ken Wong.

Excellence in Online Education Award

It takes a different class of professors to achieve excellence in an online environment. Gone are the conventions of traditional education; the modern online educator needs to be Internet-savvy, possess innovative teaching techniques and a global perspective. The award is given to professors with average SEF scores of at least 4.3. This high score bears a testament to the effectiveness and efficiency of our faculty members. Only professors who have taught at least two sections in 2007 are eligible for this award.

  1. Dr Anwar Ali
  2. Dr Paul Ballantine
  3. Dr Clemens Bechter
  4. Dr Mamata Bhandar
  5. Dr Carol Connell
